The Somalia government is leading reforms in strengthening its health system to effectively deliver health care services beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the main reforms that the government is considering is the introduction of the Essential Package of Health Services (EPHS). The goal of the EPHS is to provide a comprehensive range of free health services across nine regions of Somalia. This will remove direct out-of-pocket payments for basic health services and improve financial risk protection for the most vulnerable.
