Claude Meyer
Claude Meyer is since March 2011 the Coordinator of the P4H Network, a growing global network of various institutions and countries jointly collaborating around social health protection and health financing towards universal health coverage (UHC). He is based in WHO headquarters, department of Health Financing and Economics (HFE) in Geneva. He holds a Master in international affairs and economics from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po). After numerous assignments in Sub-Saharan Africa (DR Congo, Madagascar, Guinea, Kenya, Uganda) for international NGOs working at decentralized level in health systems management and financing and for consulting firms serving national health policy makers, he moved eastwards. First, he looked for innovative ways to improve access to health services in Yemen in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union and second, he advised the management team of the national health insurance scheme of the Philippines (PhilHealth) with the German agency GIZ. Over the last 25 years, he worked for more than 50 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
