{"id":987524869,"date":"2020-06-04T03:39:58","date_gmt":"2020-06-04T02:39:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uat.p4h.world\/news\/covid-19-act-austria\/"},"modified":"2023-03-02T10:46:18","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T09:46:18","slug":"covid-19-act-austria","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/uat.p4h.world\/en\/news\/covid-19-act-austria\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Act &#8211; Austria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On March 15, the Austrian parliament enacted the COVID-19 Act which, among the other things, establishes the COVID 19 Fund, drawing resources from the Federal government.<\/p>\n<p>The COVID-19 Fund Act established the \u201cCOVID-19 Crisis Management Fund\u201d at the Federal Minister of Finance (<strong><em>BMF<\/em><\/strong>). This fund will distribute money to federal ministries in order to efficiently and flexibly finance measures to deal with the COVID-19 crisis in Austria.&nbsp;The fund is endowed with&nbsp;<strong>up to EUR 4 billion<\/strong>.&nbsp;Some examples of potential fund purposes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>stimulating the labor market (especially short-time work under Section 13 (1) of the Labor Market Financing Act);<\/li>\n<li>cushioning crisis-related loss of income;<\/li>\n<li>stimulating the economy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So far, the fund has been used primarily for short-time work and tax relief for affected businesses.
