The P4H Technical Exchange Group (P4H-TEG) Co-chairs identified health financing and social health protection for vulnerable populations as one of the P4H-TEG workstreams for 2023-2024.<\/p>\n

Despite national and international efforts, a large proportion of the global population remains unprotected and faces financial difficulties in accessing and using healthcare services. This is even devastating among low-income vulnerable populations that include the elderly, people with disabilities, and those having infectious killer diseases such as HIV, AIDS, TB and Malaria. Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) have also faced challenges in strengthening and improving access to health and social care services in preparation for and response to population aging. <\/p>\n

Universal health coverage and social health protection are essential to prevent people from catastrophic health expenditures and impoverishment. The Group aims to explore health financing and social health protection for older and vulnerable populations by facilitating knowledge exchanges and lessons learned to diversify inclusive partnerships with all interested partners. <\/p>\n
